What are you passionate about and why? I am Passionate about making a difference in someone's life choices as it pertains to their health.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? A life coach or a Chef.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I became a provider to help bridge the gap in health care choices, knowledge and practices in my community. The loss of a loved one solidified the choice for me.
What is something you have learned from your patients? I have learned that all patients are different and care should be individualized even if you are treating similar diseases.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? Meeting my patients' needs as they navigate difficult health concerns. It is highly satisfactory to achieve a desired outcome.
What is your personal health goal? Stress free living and good food.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? Keep my doctor's appointment, exercise and don't drink my calories.
What are you most proud of? I am most proud of my determination to go to medical school as a second career and the resiliency in tackling all the challenges along the way.
What are a few of your personal achievements? Raised 4 children through college. Completing medical school and residency as a second career. Volunteering in global healthcare in Tanzania. Integrative medicine certification in residency.
