Practice philosophy: Medicine is a never-ending pursuit of providing the best evidence and experience-based practice to patients in line with their wants, needs, and mutual decision making.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? Business owner, heavy equipment operator, mechanic, professional racer. Interests always evolving!
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? My first job after college was in a business whose motto was "helping people hear." I knew our products helped many people, but after one year I knew I needed to help on the front lines.
What is something you have learned from your patients? I am often impressed with my patient's humility, kindness, and patience even in the face of difficult news and circumstances.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? I enjoy identifying goals and concerns with patients, to make sure that our testing and treatment meet their needs. Medicine is not always a cookbook!
What is your personal health goal? Model healthy living for my daughter and future children.
