Practice philosophy: Effective education and counseling can lead almost anyone to better health and well being.

What are you passionate about and why? I grew up with many teachers and caregivers in my family who emphasized the importance of education and how life is most fulfilling if you learn to truly and deeply care for those you love. By doing this, it also helps you to develop a sense of service and justice for your community as a whole.

If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? Science teacher or veterinarian.

Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I have always been fascinated with science, in particular biology, while also having a more compassionate and nurturing nature. Considering this, I saw myself working in health care at a young age.

What is something you have learned from your patients? I think the most valuable lesson I have learned from patients is how to actively listen. This allows for better patient centered care.

What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? As I mentioned before, I am truly a lover of science in all forms and greatly enjoy learning to understand more about the human body and human condition each day I come into contact with patients.

What is your personal health goal? Keep moving and eating well as I know this will help me to do the outdoor activities I enjoy so much.

What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? I am dedicated to eating well as I know what you put into your body directly affects the way you feel both physically and emotionally. And staying active!

What are you most proud of? I am extremely proud of my 3 sons as I watch them grow and become kind and positive contributors to the world. I am also proud of the dedication my brothers and I have given to taking care of our parents as they have battled health issues as they age.

What are a few of your personal achievements? Making it to the BWCA over 12 times and introducing so many people to that beautiful area (even a family from Switzerland!) And loving every animal I meet like it is my own!
