Hannah Christian, APRN, CNP

I am a Team Care Provider (TCP) and help cover appointments, online messages and calls as an extension of your care team. I work with providers at the Allina Health Elk River Clinic and am able to help when your primary care provider does not have availability. While patients are unable to establish regular care with me, I diagnose, treat and manage various health conditions, order diagnostic tests, prescribe medications and provide patient education and counseling, keeping your provider informed along the way.

What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about helping people understand all of the healthcare options available to them so they can feel empowered to make their own decisions regarding their health and wellness. I want the patient to feel they are in control of their healthcare, and I am here to help along the way.

If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? World Traveler

Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I was fortunate enough to spend much of my childhood with my grandmother, who was a nurse. She taught me that caring for people is a privilege and the importance of advocacy.

What is something you have learned from your patients? Listening is a powerful tool we all have the ability to use.

What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? There is a lot if information out there. I enjoy hearing the goal of the patient and helping them achieve it by ensuring they have reliable information and navigating a complicated system with them!

What is your personal health goal? Self-care and cultivating positive mental health

What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? Mental health is equally important as physical health. Self-care is health care!
