Practice philosophy: My practice philosophy is to work with you to provide collaborative care in order to develop individualized goals of care. I strive to build personal connections to provide you with the best care possible. I believe in using evidence-based medicine. 

What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about providing education and giving great quality care. It is very important to me to provide clear communication that is easy to understand. I want to be a partner in your care, helping present the information so you can ultimately make the decision that is best for you.

If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be?  If I was not an NP, I would continue to work as a registered nurse and clinical instructor.

Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? After working as a nurse for a few years, I knew I wanted to expand my knowledge in medicine and become more active in my patients' care; combining my passion for both learning and patient care.

What is something you have learned from your patients? I have learned that even if I might think something is the best option for a patient’s care, if the patient does not agree or understand, then it will never be the best choice for that person.

What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? Health and medicine are like a puzzle, which creates a lot of variety. Sometimes the pieces fit together and the plan is easily figured out, whereas other times it takes a little more effort to solve.

What is your personal health goal?  To do activities I enjoy daily that benefit my mental, physical, and emotional health.

What are you most proud of? I am most proud of completing my doctorate of nursing practice and becoming an NP, along with the 6+ years I have spent as a nurse in a variety of roles.
