Practice philosophy: My philosophy is to help others to take charge of their mental health and to assist them to experience a transformative journey in the process. By keeping up with the latest research and advancements in the field, I ensure that my practice integrates evidence-based interventions, tailored to each client's unique needs. By fostering a non-judgmental and supportive environment, I strive to create a safe space where individuals can openly explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about empowering individuals to overcome their challenges and lead fulfilling lives, and to provide personalized therapy to help patients gain insight into their patterns of thinking and develop practical skills to effectively manage difficulties.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? Conducting research, teaching psychology, or doing advocacy and policy work.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? Passion for helping others - I was drawn to clinical psychology because of a genuine desire to help people improve their mental well-being and lead happier, more fulfilling lives.
What is something you have learned from your patients? I have learned about unique life experiences, perspectives, and cultural backgrounds, providing a deeper understanding of different worldviews, values, and diverse ways of coping with challenges.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? Professional development and keeping up with research - Psychology is continuously evolving. I enjoy staying updated with the latest research, interventions, and evidence-based practices.
What is your personal health goal? To always stay actively engaged in the process of personal growth and development.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? To be mindful of doing something positive every day regarding my mind, body, and spirit, and to always try to maintain a hopeful, positive, and optimistic outlook regardless of circumstances.
What are you most proud of? I am most proud of having raised three amazing children who have become healthy, happy, and successful young adults who are doing an amazing job of raising children of their own.
What are a few of your personal achievements? Having successfully completed Grandma's Marathon and several half-marathons, motorcycling around the Great Lakes, and visiting my father's birthplace in Eastern Europe with one of my children.
