Milan Ristic, DO

Practice philosophy: The body has a strong propensity to heal itself. My goal is to provide you with the tools and education to continue living the life you want, free of functional limitations. Pain can be managed through a passive and active approach. By equipping yourself with these strategies we can address most issues of pain through a predominantly conservative treatment plan.

What are you passionate about and why? I am very passionate about education and teaching. I love to be involved in teaching future medical professionals. I am a soccer fanatic but find entertainment in watching most sports.

If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? Educator/Professor.

Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? Early on in my undergraduate career, I was interested in engineering but knew my true passion was in medicine. However, my appreciation for engineering gave me a systematic and regimented approach throughout my medical training.

What is something you have learned from your patients? Taking the time to listen to their story and acknowledge the hardships they may be enduring is important. A detailed physical exam is appreciated by most.

What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? Being able to look at an unsolved puzzle and try to arrange pieces in a way it fits. I tend to voice my thinking process with patients so we can problem solve together.

What are a few of your personal achievements? I continue to mentor medical students and residents from all over the country.
