Practice philosophy: All individuals should have the ability to access language for the integral part that it plays in the quality of daily activities for life.
What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about access to language because it is part of the foundation to every relationship we have with friends, family members, and peers. When access to clear language is diminished it can greatly affect our quality of life.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? If I weren't a health care provider I would be a children's book author.
Why did you become a provider? I became a hearing health care provider because once I saw it as a possible career, I thought, "I could make a difference doing that!"
What is something you have learned from your patients? I have learned that one of the greatest gifts in life is to address life's hard knocks with humor.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? I most enjoy challenges of customizing amplification to an individual's lifestyle. The best amplification is the one they can put on and forget about!
What is your personal health goal? My personal health goal is to increase my flexibility so that I can do the splits and then keep it.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? The best health advice I've ever received is that everyone only has 100% to give at any time. If you give 110% of yourself to your physical health, your emotional health suffers- find the balance.
What are you most proud of? I am most proud of belonging to a supportive family who encourages every member to embrace the failures, as that is how we learn to be better.
What are a few of your personal achievements? A few of my personal achievements include completing two half marathons, learning to play the piano, and kissing the Blarney Stone in Ireland.
