What is your practice philosophy? Therapy is a dynamic combination of art and science; at its core is the power of the therapeutic relationship in which individuals can feel safe to explore their innermost experiences.
What are you passionate about? And why? I am passionate about promoting the health of parents, which in turn leads to healthy families. Healthy parents and families have the capacity to break intergenerational cycles, develop greater wellness, and build a better future for themselves and the communities in which they live.
If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a: Writer, because I love the creative process which deepens my understanding of language and our world.
Something I have learned from my patients is: So much of what makes us human leads to both suffering and profound meaning.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): The field of psychology is always evolving. This can make it a challenge to stay apprised of the latest therapies and recommendations, yet I enjoy that this requires that I be a life-long learner.
What is the best thing you’ve done for your health or the best health advice you’ve received? “Eat real food, not too much, mostly plants.”- Michael Pollan. And, take long walks outdoors as much as possible.
