What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about helping others and care deeply about animals. I believe in supporting organizations that serve the community or work towards the safety and welfare of animals.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? A professional animal rescuer.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I decided to become an NP after working many years as a nurse in acute care oncology. I became a provider to help patients make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
What is something you have learned from your patients? The importance of listening.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? The challenge of caring for a diverse patient population.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? Just do your best and cut yourself some slack. It's ok to slow down once in a while and just take a nap. Meditation can also have profoundly positive affects on your health.
