What is your practice philosophy? My philosophy is to partner with patients to achieve their self-identified health goals and to provide support, nonjudgmental guidance, and effective evidence-based care.
What are you passionate about? And why? I am passionate about the intersection of healthcare and social justice, gender-affirming care, and providing excellent medical care to all people.
If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a: Chef, barista, or baker, for obvious reasons.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I became a physician because it is an opportunity to provide service to people that is grounded in science and evidence.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): I love the challenge of guiding my goals as a physician and my patients’ goals for their own health and wellness into alignment. Our goals are often different and sometimes contradictory, but it’s incredibly important that the care I give is grounded in patient agency and autonomy.
What is the best thing you’ve done for your health or the best health advice you’ve received? Exercise every day. Movement is one of the most important things I do for my mental and physical health.
What are you most proud of? Making a 180-degree career change in my mid-twenties and becoming a mother in my mid-30s.
