What is your practice philosophy? Educate patients to make informed choices. Support patients' choices. Empower women in their healthcare management. Treat all patients with kindness and dignity. Listen to patients for their physical, mental, and emotional needs.     

What are you passionate about? And why? Empowering women.  When we empower women we make the entire family and community stronger.    

If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a: A teacher. I love providing education and understanding.    

Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I was a labor and delivery nurse for over 12 years.  I became a provider so I could have a more substantial role in women’s healthcare.  I knew this was the career for me when I realized the need to educate women on their healthcare and choices.  I love the education role as a provider.    

Something I have learned from my patients is: Patients have taught me to be in the moment. When I am with a patient, that is my only focus. Patients deserve for me to be completely present.  This is a life lesson to be present in all life’s moments.      

One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): I enjoy when patients’ question the plan of care. Their questioning lets me know they are invested in their own healthcare and feel safe in voicing their opinions.     

My personal health goal is: Continue to learn.      

What is the best thing you’ve done for your health or the best health advice you’ve received? Using meditation to sleep better and weight lifting for strength and cardio benefits.    

What are you most proud of? My family. Empowering women to make informed choices in healthcare.    

What are a few of your personal achievements? Caring for people in hospice and climbing a mountain in Alaska.
