Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? My mother was a great influence in my life. She was a nurse who worked hard and cared very much for each of her patients. She inspired my interest in science and eventually my career in medicine.
Something I have learned from my patients is: It's important not only to focus on the quantity of years, but also to ensure quality of life.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): Being there for my patients through every aspect of care and being their support through post-operative recovery.
