What is your practice philosophy? Listen to my patient’s whole story to fully understand their concerns, strengths and weaknesses, and support systems, and how these are impacting their health – physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Provide advocacy and support through different resources and promote resilience through life changes.
If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a: A preschool or elementary teacher in a Montessori school as I am passionate about young childhood development and enjoy seeing curiosity, creativity, and knowledge grow together.
Something I have learned from my patients is: Active listening helps to show true interest and empathy for each patient’s story.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): Health care is always changing and that has challenges, but I enjoy that there are always new things to learn.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I have always known I would be in a field of work that involved helping others.
What are you most proud of? Becoming a nurse and now a nurse practitioner.
