What is your practice philosophy? I provide research-supported interventions that are in line with a patient’s life values and enhance their abilities, skills as well as adaptive coping when encountering challenges.
What are you passionate about? And why? Gender equality and climate change – it has impact on everyone.
If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a: Hard to tell. I have held many jobs throughout my life. I do love nature and traveling.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? While I worked for the United Nations, I enrolled in general psychology class at the City College of NY. I enjoyed the learning about human mind and behavior and decided to pursue clinical psychology doctorate.
Something I have learned from my patients is: Therapy is hard work. I admire patient’s efforts and tenacity to create meaningful changes in their lives.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): : I appreciate the science and research that guide efficient approaches and interventions in mental health. I enjoy learning and knowledge.
My personal health goal is: Run twin cities marathon.
What is the best thing you’ve done for your health or the best health advice you’ve received? I walk for 1 hour every day and maintain clear boundaries between my professional and personal lives.
What are you most proud of? My family.
What are a few of your personal achievements? I climbed Mt. Fuji in Japan during the UN Singers Choir trip to Tokyo.
