What is your practice philosophy? My goal is to help patients maintain their freedom, dignity, and functionality. This can be done with modern treatments in addition to preventative medicine, while being respectful of patient goals.
What are you passionate about? And why? I love cooking with a crock pot in the fall and winter time. There are a lot of healthy options to choose from when making soups, stews, and chilis.
When did you know this was the career for you? My interest was sparked when I was visiting a relative while they were in the emergency room. I was incredibly impressed by the knowledgeable staff and caring nursing. I was also intrigued by the challenge of medicine. Shortly thereafter, I began volunteering at a hospital and that led me to this career.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): Helping people through personal health transitions. This could be anything from someone starting their first daily medication to assisting folks with the challenges we experience later in life. Working with people is why I love the job.
What are a few of your personal achievements? I had prior careers in computer programming and financial analysis.
