What is your practice philosophy? I strive to provide evidence based, high quality, and thoughtful cancer care to all of my patients. As a surgical oncologist, it is my job to perform surgery, but just as important, it is my job to guide, support, and counsel patients from the time of diagnosis to surgery and beyond.
What are you passionate about? I am passionate about providing true multidisciplinary cancer care, in which each patient will receive the input and expertise of multiple providers in a team-based approach. I believe in this manner, the best outcomes can be achieved.
When did you know this was the career for you? I realized I wanted to become a surgical oncologist early in my medical training, when I witnessed the complexity of the disease and the depth of the relationship between patient and physician.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is: Every patient is unique, and I enjoy the challenge of providing the best possible cancer care that aligns with the individual goals of each and every patient.
My personal health goal is: To live a healthy, active lifestyle.
