What is your practice philosophy? Family Medicine is all about developing relationships. As my patients and I get to know each other over time, I’m able to better understand what “health” means to my patients. I can then work collaboratively with patients to help them reach their personal health goals. As a family physician, I’m fortunate to get to take care of entire families, and the resulting deep relationships give me tremendous insight into the individuals’ care needs.

If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a: Travel writer because I love exploring new places and expanding my horizons.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I went to medical school because I wanted a career in which I tangibly helped people in a meaningful way. I went into Family Medicine because I wanted to take care of patients of all ages, and I wanted to serve as a teacher to help educate patients about health and guide them toward their wellness goals.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): I love that no two days are the same in primary care. It is so fun to be able to take care of anything and everything. Not only is it gratifying, but it’s challenging and intellectually stimulating.
What is the best thing you’ve done for your health or the best health advice you’ve received? Reducing processed foods. I like the motto “eat food that looks like it did when it came from the earth.”
What are you most proud of? My family. I have a fantastic husband and two beautiful and spunky young daughters.
