I am passionate about: partnering with patients to provide individualized care, because care should be centered on each patient’s unique needs.
If I wasn't a provider, I would be a: veterinarian, because I have been an animal lover since I was a child.
I became a provider to: help people overcome health obstacles and obtain optimal wellness in order to live the best possible life. I knew I wanted to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner after working with some very compassionate providers at Mercy Hospital when I was an RN.
My patients have taught me that: taking the time to sit down and allow the patient to communicate their health concerns and goals leads to more a beneficial rapport allows trusting relationships to be built.
One challenge of this career that I enjoy is: approaching the subject of advanced health care planning and talking about end-of-life preferences. It can be a difficult subject for some people, but is such an important topic to discuss.
My personal health goal is: to create a sustainable healthy diet for myself and family.
