I am passionate about: teaching my patients how to take care of their health in a manner that can be understood. Navigating health can be tricky and I find great joy in guiding patients through the process.
If I wasn’t a provider, I would be: a gym teacher. I like being active outside and playing sports. I also like learning new things and educating others.
I became a provider because: I wanted to do more as a nurse. Working as an ICU RN created a desire in me for primary care and prevention. I value educating my patients and their families, partnering with them to determine how they can find optimal health, and prevent hospitalizations.
Something I have learned from my patients is: being sick, under stress, afraid or confused makes it really challenging to be yourself. Acknowledgement of where the patient is at can help bring us one step closer to what they need and better help them.
A challenge of this career that I enjoy is: never settling for what you know currently, because what you know may be obsolete with the evolving world of medicine. This challenge keeps me learning and on my toes.
My personal health goal is: to be injury free, eat a healthy diet and be active daily.
I am most proud of: my patients who don’t give up, but choose to make changes even when they are difficult.
