I am certified nurse practitioner specializing in family medicine with professional interests in chronic disease management, preventive health, mental health, and mind and body wellness.

I’m passionate about: my faith, family and health; and traveling and reading. I feel that connecting with God and my family allow for optimal spiritual wellness, which in turn promotes physical and emotional health. I love running, riding my bike, weight lifting, and doing yoga to help keep my body and mind healthy. It's a blast running 5Ks and other races with friends throughout the summer months. My family helps keep me grounded through laughter, play and togetherness, and we love game and movie nights, along with camping and swimming in the summertime.

I became a nurse practitioner because: I love working with others to promote optimal wellness, which I see as physical, spiritual and emotional well-being. I want to be a person in an individual’s life that can motivate, engage, and listen and support them on their path to achieving this wellness.

One of the challenges of my career that I enjoy is: having difficult conversations with patients about obesity, smoking cessation or pain management. Developing a plan of action to overcome negative health hurdles will ultimately change my patients’ life for the better and will promote a greater quality of life.

My personal health goal is: to be physically active every day of the week, first thing in the morning. I'm running 5-10Ks now, but think a marathon might be in my future; I take it one run at a time.

I am most proud of: completing graduate school while still working as a bedside nurse, raising my family, and the pregnancy and birth of an additional child.
