Best part of work: I enjoy the relationships formed whether with a new patient or one I've seen for over 20 years. It is rewarding to enter into a shared decision to help overcome a problem or make/maintain healthy choices.
Why I became physician: My grandparents worked at Sioux Valley Hospital as a receptionist and maintenance man when I was a child. I would spend 1-2 weeks with them during the summer and learned to love the hospital. The people and activity appealed to me. I also was blessed to have a large family so learned about service and compassion which led to feeling a calling to medicine.
How I spend free time: I enjoy spending time with my wonderful wife and 5 amazing children. Running, maintaining my yard, skiing, reading are my interests.
