What is your practice philosophy? My goal is to help patients feel “unstuck” and free to pursue their values--the things in life that are dearest and most meaningful to them. Therapy is a partnership: I bring my own clinical experience and knowledge of the scientific evidence, and the patient is the expert on their own experience.
What are you passionate about? And why? Access to mental health services. Our society is better and stronger when everyone can participate in it to their fullest ability.
Something I have learned from my patients is: Human beings are astoundingly, inspiringly resilient.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): Helping patients confront difficult things they’ve been avoiding, because tremendous growth happens on the other side.
What is the best thing you’ve done for your health or the best health advice you’ve received? Regular exercise, whether strength training or just biking to work, is essential to helping me feel grounded and whole.
