I am passionate about supporting women and their health care choices; being present with women, listening and empowering them through education. I love being invited to the birth of a family and enjoy catching babies.
If I was not a midwife I would be a barista at Starbucks. I love a good cup of coffee.
My favorite destination is Telluride, Colorado. There is nothing more peaceful and freeing than snowboarding down the mountainside.
I knew I wanted to be a health care provider when my younger brother was diagnosed with diabetes. I witnessed the challenges our family faced learning about the diagnosis and how it affected everyone. I wanted to help him learn about his body and not let the diagnosis limit him. At 13 years old, I was giving my seven-year-old brother multiple shots a day. I witnessed my first birth in nursing school and was empowered by birth, being present and witnessing the power of our bodies and the strength of the family.
Something I have learned from my patients is that everyone is an individual. The women I care for have helped me gain insight into each woman's inner strength.
