Jamie Kalafatich, DO

I am a board-certified family medicine physician with professional interests in osteopathic manipulative medicine, women's health, pediatrics and office procedures.

I am passionate about: my family, faith and health. I believe that having faith, being loved by family and staying healthy are the most important things.

I became a physician because: I have always loved to help others, even since I was little. I also enjoy basic science and understanding the microscopic and molecular level. After finishing my master's degree in molecular biology and having the opportunity to work in gene therapy research at UCLA, I realized the best combination of both would be working as a physician. I truly enjoy everything about medicine. 

If I wasn't a physician, I would be a: veterinarian. I have always loved animals and worked in veterinary medicine while considering that as a career path. 

My hero is: my grandfather. He was a giving, honest and hard-working man. His life was a living example of kindness.

Something I have learned from my patients: is that each has a different story and history to tell. I like to spend time to really get to know all my patients individually. When I see progress or when I am able to help ease someone's pain I am reminded why I went into this field.

I am most proud of: my four children ages one to 11 years old. They are so wonderful and mean the world to me.
