Your nervous system controls how you sense and react to the world around you. It involves your brain, spinal cord, muscles and nerves.
Neurosurgeons are doctors who use surgery to repair the nervous system.
Neurosurgeons also use nonsurgical means to help adults and children with conditions such as:
- aneurysms and clogged arteries
- birth defects
- brain and spine tumors
- chronic back pain
- head and spinal cord injuries
- multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease and tremor
