What to expect from your visit
For the first session, your child or teen will meet with a psychiatrist or mental health clinician whose expertise matches your needs. For children and teens, a parent or guardian's input is needed. The purpose of the "intake" appointment is to learn about your child’s needs and the best plan of treatment to proceed with.
In order to focus treatment effectively, the mental health provider will need to understand your child’s:
