Alina Jeffers, MD
OB/GYN Hospitalist
My specialties:
- Obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN)
Not accepting new patients in this area.
I am a hospitalist who specializes in the care of hospitalized patients. I work primarily within the hospital setting, managing the day-to-day medical care of patients admitted for treatment. While patients are unable to establish regular care with me, my role is to ensure you receive continuous and focused attention from admission to discharge and assist in ensuring a smooth transition between different stages of treatment. After your stay, please follow up with your primary care provider.
Practice philosophy: I enjoy and take pride in providing the highest standard of care in pregnancy and delivery as well as all healthcare for women. In my role as an Ob/Gyn Hospitalist I will strive to provide a comfortable, safe, and desired birth experience for any of the patients in my care.
What are you passionate about and why? Providing care to all women in labor and delivery as well as any women's healthcare that may present in an urgent or emergent way through the emergency room. I want to make women feel safe and comfortable and supported through all phases of care that they may receive in the hospital setting.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? Travel blogger or nature photographer.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I realized I wanted to be a doctor sophomore year of high school after doing an anatomy lab. I wanted to be an Ob/Gyn after delivering my first baby on my ob/gyn rotation in medical school.
What is something you have learned from your patients? That everyone's life experiences are different and those things make the person in front of you who they are and you need to meet them where they are.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? The change in acuity of patient care. This can be a cause of stress but is also exciting and keeps you sharp and focused and engaged.
What is your personal health goal? To find the balance between providing health care to patients while finding time for your own needs.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? There will always be a task that needs to be completed, and to put exercise or selfcare first at least on occasion, will always end up secondary if you don't make time for it.
What are you most proud of? Having a 20-plus year career in women's health care providing the highest standard of care in a relatable, friendly, welcoming way. I want my patients to always feel that I am a friend and someone they can trust and not just a doctor that is speaking at them versus with them.
What are a few of your personal achievements? A 20-plus year career in women's healthcare with thousands of patients reporting the highest level of satisfaction while raising three boys to be successful and happy (with such a busy career).
