Practice philosophy: I enjoy troubleshooting with patients on ways to achieve their health goals. How to add exercise, decrease stress and take medications properly within our busy world and frantic pace.

What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about feeding patients confidence. We are our own worst critics and changing that to positivity. Allowing patients to succeed by setting goals that are reachable. Letting patients know that they are important, good and valuable to this world.

If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? Day care provider

Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? My mother was a nurse and encouraged me to follow this path. I started to study for childcare and realized that I was needing more science and deductive reasoning so changed to nursing.

What is something you have learned from your patients? I have learned that kind words and a listening ear can aid many problems. I've also learned that patients have a lot of worries for their own health and the health of those they love.

What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? I love listening and learning about patients and their families, habits and lifestyles. The challenge is doing this while staying on time without the patient feeling any sense of being rushed.

What is your personal health goal? Maintain my diabetes control to prevent complications.

What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? Walk, walk, walk. It can be done in front of the TV while in place or outside. Dress for the weather and you can walk anytime. Listen and breathe.

What are you most proud of? I am most proud of raising my three sons. I'm not done yet. (Does it ever end?)

What are a few of your personal achievements? I am proud to be a nurse practitioner, a mother and when I nail a singing solo.
