If I wasn’t a provider, I would be:
An artist, because there is so much beauty in the world to see, to create and share, which makes our life so much better.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you?
From early years I knew, that I will be practicing medicine and helping people to feel better. My dad worked as a pediatric surgeon for number of years, and my mom and paternal grandmother helped sick with special meal recipes and herbal teas. Learning Acupuncture and Chinese medicine was a natural extension of my studies of healing arts and allowed me to provide holistic and gentle care for variety of body and mind ailments.
Something I have learned from my patients is:
Patience, inner strength and grace in difficult times.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why):
Finding simple and enjoyable solutions for the patients with complicated conditions in order to feel better and stronger.
My personal health goal is:
To be in better health in my 70s than in my 40s.
What is the best thing you’ve done for your health or the best health advice you’ve received?
Find the joy in what you do and where you are and never stop learning and dreaming.
What are you most proud of?
Being able to build a successful career in the field I love and to have a wonderful family, despite all challenges of being from a first generation of immigrants coming from the former Soviet Union in earlier 1990s.
What are a few of your personal achievements?
