What is your practice philosophy? Medicine is not an occupation but a vocation. Physicians' role and status in society are not merely based on sharing their professional expertise or on simply providing a "service" but on their voluntary willingness to address and hopefully allay human suffering through the centuries. Knowledge should not supersede Wisdom and Cleverness should not outshine Common Sense. Leaving Well alone and remembering that the medical practice is an Art before it is a Science are fundamental notions that physicians should aspire to. The Cure of disease should not be more grievous than its endurance Patients should not be treated as "cases" and doctors are not merely "providers". Humanism and compassion are the guiding principles for any physician.
What are you passionate about? And why? Medical Care should be a right not a privilege and the reason is self-evident.
If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a: A Physician! Cannot think of anything else!
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? No specific incident and no cliché. Always felt I wanted to be a physician since late childhood.
Something I have learned from my patients is: One learns every day from patients. If one listens carefully enough, diagnosis and appropriate management are greatly facilitated.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): Keeping up with the ever-changing rapid developments in my field.
My personal health goal is: Simply to stay in good health to be able to perform my professional role to the best of my ability.
What is the best thing you’ve done for your health or the best health advice you’ve received? Trying to eat better both qualitatively and quantitatively.
What are you most proud of? My wife!
What are a few of your personal achievements? Mainly my academic achievements.
