What is your practice philosophy? To meet people where they are and to collaborate with my patients to talk about making healthy life choices through informed decision making.
What are you passionate about? I am passionate about providing holistic health and healing to all of my patients. I believe that every patient has the right to complete and accurate information that will help facilitate informed health care decisions.
If I wasn't a provider, I would be a: Event planner. I love planning all types of events including weddings, baby showers, wedding showers, and social gatherings.
Why did you become a provider? I knew that my calling was to promote health and wellness and that I wanted to go into a career in health care. When I found nursing as a career and I worked in labor, I knew I wanted to spend more time with my patients and provide continuity of care, which led me to become a provider.
Something that I have learned from my patients is: That everyone is the expert of their own bodies. Listening to each patient is important in order to acknowledge that the lived experience of each patient is an important part of their health.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is: The wealth of information and knowledge present. My practice is based on evidence and with the increasing evidence and chances in practice, I am constantly learning and growing to provide the best possible patient care.
My personal health goal is: To stay active daily and to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night!
What is the best thing you've done for your health? I created a home gym! As a busy mom of three, it can be difficult to get to the gym
What are you most proud of? I am most proud of my family. Being a mother is the most rewarding and challenging thing I've ever done in my life, and it has taught me so much about myself.
What are a few of your personal achievements? I really value my time as an AmeriCorps VISTA working alongside community members to meet our nation's most pressing challenges and finding solutions.
