Practice Philosophy: As a Family Medicine physician with additional osteopathic manipulative medicine training, my goal is to first approach my patients and their families in a holistic manner and to offer them a safe space that promotes engagement in the medical decision-making process. I also believe that an evidence-based approach is crucial for an honest medical discussion, while also considering the unique needs of each patient.
What are you passionate about? I'm passionate about equitable healthcare and understanding the variables that impact both the physical and mental health of patients.
If I wasn't a provider, I would be a: Scientist. I love learning and implementing knowledge to help better understand the world around us.
Why did you become a provider? My dad says that he's known that I would be a physician since I was just a wee thing. He remembers taking me around the hospital wards with a stethoscope around my neck and having me love the patient interactions. As an older child, I was fascinated with "healing" and "helping" people, which translated into a desire to become a physician.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is: Complex medical problems. I appreciate the difficulty that the pose but they can also offer a chance for a dramatic lifestyle improvement if addressed appropriately.
My personal health goal is: To be a healthy role model for my children. I want them to learn how to lead a balanced, yet active life.
What are you most proud of? I don't think I can choose one thing. I am most grateful for the life I have had and am hopeful to continue a healthy journey with my children and husband by my side.
What are a few of your personal achievements? Finishing my doctorate in Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience after seven years! Also, training for Ride the Rockies and competing at the national level for tennis.
