What is your practice philosophy? Women’s health issues, especially pelvic floor dysfunction, are very common, yet women often feel alone or too embarrassed to talk about them. It is my goal to normalize and spread awareness of women’s health issues by building a rapport of trust and confidence with my patients, so that they feel comfortable discussing their concerns with me. I believe in patient-provider partnerships, and ensuring that every patient feels that they are an active participant in their care plan.
Hometown: Stevens Point, WI
What are you passionate about? I am passionate about women’s health and engaging women in their healthcare goals, education, and care. Helping people understand how their body works and why a decision is made, with the ultimate goal of empowering people to make informed decisions is one of the things I love most about medicine.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I became a PA because I wanted to have a knowledge base and a skillset that helped people. I knew I had joined chosen the right profession the first time a patient thanked me for being there.
Something I have learned from my patients is: Working in a specialty, you often see the same issues many times throughout the day. One thing I’ve learned from my patients is that everybody’s experience is different, even if their diagnoses are the same. All people are unique.
My personal health goal is: To stay active and cook nutritious foods so that I can feel good, strong, and live a vibrant life.
