Erika Sletten, LICSW
- Virtual visits
Therapist Erika Sletten, LICSW, always knew she’d end up in a career that focused on helping people. I offer face-to-face virtual visits for a variety of health services and conditions.
“My father and sister are also social workers, my mother is a teacher and my other sister also teaches,” she said. “The variety of ways to serve the community in the social work field was appealing to me.”
Erika defines her role as a therapist as helping people identify the changes they want to make in their life.
“I feel it’s important to develop a game plan together, that the client has the ability to make the changes necessary in their life and to build a respectful relationship to work together to achieve their goals,” Erika said.
A Mankato native, Erika earned her degree in social work from Minnesota State University – Mankato. She worked as a social worker in Home Care/Hospice for three years before beginning her practice in outpatient therapy.
Within her therapy practice, Erika has a special interest in patients who suffer from anxiety, Veterans and their family members, people who are grieving, and adolescents who need extra support. “I was fortunate enough to learn information about these areas from great mentors in my life,” she said.
Her favorite thing about her practice, she said, is her patients.
“I meet people who are inspiring, who teach me new ideas and help me see the world differently,” she said. “I am challenged every day.”
Erika is proud mom to two daughters, Lauren and Harper.
“My favorite part of the day is having dinner with my girls and talking about their day at the dining room table,” Erika said.
