Dr. Grace Ouyang (pronounced oh-young), is a specialist in the field of podiatry – the field of medicine that addresses foot and ankle pathology in the clinical or surgical setting. I offer face-to-face virtual visits for a variety of health services and conditions.
Dr. Ouyang is a native of Mankato, Minn., and grew up in a Chinese-American trilingual household. She speaks English, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese Chinese. Her multicultural upbringing and scientific curiosity had a profound impact on her career path. "Growing up, my Chinese mother loved medicinal remedies. Sometimes they worked and sometimes they didn't," Dr. Ouyang said. "I was always intrigued and curious as to how the stuff worked; however the explanations given were often nondescript. I wanted to pursue medicine to gain a better understanding of how different cultures utilized medical treatments."
Dr. Ouyang completed her undergraduate degree in BioChemistry – with a minor in music – at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis. Determined to help people from all walks of life, she pursued podiatry, and earned her doctorate at Des Moines University Osteopathic Medicine – College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery and completed her residency at Kingwood Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Ouyang's area of expertise includes foot and ankle trauma; reconstructive foot and ankle surgery; diabetic foot care and limb salvage; arthroscopic ankle repair; and sports medicine.
