Wheelchair Tennis

Learn the lifelong sport of tennis that you can play with friends, family, and other wheelchair users. This program offers rewarding challenges while improving hand-eye coordination, strength, and concentration. The only difference between able-bodied tennis and wheelchair tennis is wheelchair players are allowed two bounces of the ball. This makes a perfect game that you can play against family and friends!

You will receive professional instruction from our partners at USTA Northern and skilled volunteer instructors. All necessary equipment, including a sports wheelchair, is provided.

Who it is for

Wheelchair tennis is open to players ages 6 and up. Many players have a disability that affects their lower extremities, including amputation, spinal cord injury, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and leg length discrepancy among other conditions. Our recreational wheelchair tennis program is extremely open to those who can play. You do not need to be an everyday wheelchair user to play wheelchair sports. Please ask the Sport Specialist for more information.
