Preparing your child for surgery

This is a one-on-one session for children, ages 2 to 18, and their families. We want to make your child's surgery experience less frightening by familiarizing them with Buffalo Hospital and what to expect on the day of their surgery.

You and your child will meet with a Same Day Surgery staff member to learn what to expect while at the hospital. Following a tour of the hospital, your child will be given the opportunity to see and touch various surgical equipment and clothing including blood pressure machines, stethoscopes, gowns and masks.

We want to make your child's surgery experience as comfortable as possible and this offers extra preparation.
