Education Series on Addiction

Support, education, connection and guidance for parents, spouses, friends and other family members of someone with addiction

Join us to learn about the various components related to addiction, so that you can better support and empower your loved one who suffers from this chronic condition. This program is facilitated by a licensed mental health professional who will provide current and easy to understand information.

Session 1:

  • Addiction disease model
  • Addiction symptoms
  • Treatment levels

Session 2:

  • Theoretical approaches
  • Family and client expectations of treatment
  • Resources for help

Session 3:

  • Stages of change
  • Motivators
  • Autonomy

Session 4:

  • Effects on family members (resentment, shame, boundaries, support systems)
  • Recovery vs. abstinence
  • Full recovery

Please plan on attending 3 sessions as part of the treatment program. For ages 15 and older.
