Scuba, Adaptive
Experience weightlessness and the thrill of breathing underwater through Try-SCUBA. Certified dive instructors from Midwest School of Diving, skilled in adaptive sports, will guide you through this introductory scuba diving experience.
Enjoy an evening in our heated pool and experience the peace and tranquility of the underwater world. This course consists of learning the functions of the scuba equipment with your instructor and then spending time under the water exploring.
While not a certification course, Try-SCUBA offers a simple and fast glimpse into the wonders of underwater exploration. This opportunity is available for individuals aged 12 and above.

Who it is for
This class welcomes participants aged 12 and above. Scuba diving is inherently a team activity. If you plan to pursue certification, we can allow a friend or family member to participate with you if space allows.
Everyone attending must complete HSA Scuba Diving forms which requires a physician’s signature. All forms must be completed and submitted 1 week prior to the class.
What to expect
- This is an introductory course to teach you the basics about scuba diving.
- You will work one on one with a certified dive master in the warm water pool for 45 minutes
- There are accessible locker rooms and private changing rooms available
- Please come early to give yourself time to change and be ready
- Our pools have a ramp and water approved wheelchairs if you need assistance getting in the water.

No participant will be turned away due to financial hardships. Thanks to our generous donors, scholarships are available based on financial need. To apply, complete a Scholarship / Cost Share application prior to registering for a program. Please contact us if you have any questions.
