What it is

Aquatic offerings include specialty classes such as Arthritis Exercise, Prenatal Splash, Neuro Splash, Aquatic Bodywork and Aqua Tot, as well as Learn to Swim classes. Specific times also are designated in each pool for Independent Therapeutic Exercise (ITE).

Who it is for

Classes are available for people of all ages and abilities. Young children, expectant mothers, and people dealing with disabilities, arthritis or chronic pain can benefit from time in the pool.

What to expect

The water temperature is a comfortable 92 degrees. Staircases, handrails, ramps and special pool wheelchairs provide easy access to the pools. A certified lifeguard or instructor is on duty. Locker rooms are available for showering and changing. Participants must provide their own padlock, swimsuit and towel. Clients requiring assistance in the locker room or in the pool need to provide their own attendants. A separate family locker room is available for clients and their attendants.

Good to know

Many classes, especially the Learn to Swim classes, fill up fast, so it's a good idea to register as soon as possible. Ability to swim is not a requirement for most pool exercise classes.
